HPV-GENITAL WARTS

Human Papilloma viruses are a group of related DNA viruses,that can infect both men and women.There are about 100 types of HPV,about 40 types can affect genitals and cause significant lesions,such as genital warts,cervical intraepithelial lesions and,under circumstances,even cervical cancer.
There are high- risk (oncogenic) and low- risk ( non-oncogenic) types o HPV viruses.
The high- risk types(16,18,31,33,35,39,45,51,52 and 58)that are associated with cervical ,vulvar,vaginal and anal cancers and low-risk types(6,11,40,42,43,44 and 54),that are associated with genital warts.
HPV infection is a sexually transmitted disease,usually spread through penetrative sexual intercourse.
